Monthly CAPPIE Award Recipient:
On February 4, 2014, Naomi Gilbert was presented with the HR Professional of the Month CAPPIE Award. Naomi is an employee with the Office of Administration (OA), Bureau of Employee Absences and Safety, and has worked for the commonwealth for less than a year. During this time, she has streamlined the processes of her job to make it easier and more organized for her as well as other members of her team who may need to access her work. In other words, she has challenged the processes that her organization was using for years, which helped them and freed-up her time to help others on her team. Her organization has a saying… “if you were hit by a bus, could someone else pick-up the work”. Naomi has made that possible because her work is organized and all of the processes are documented. Additionally, Naomi has recently worked with the Department of Treasury to develop a process to return the money from uncashed workers’ compensation checks to which the recipient was not entitled (i.e., overpayment, deceased) back to the workers’ compensation fund. It is estimated that this process will save the commonwealth $500,000 a year.
Do you know a supervisor or HR colleague who deserves to be recognized? If so, we encourage you to nominate that person for a monthly or annual award through the CAPHRA Recognition Program. It's easy! All you need to do is complete a simple Monthly/Annual Nomination Form and submit it to Nicole Shoop at email@example.com.
Each month, CAPHRA presents the CAPPIE Award to two HR professionals or a group of HR professionals who did something great - maybe the person consistently gives good service or performed exceptionally well on a particular assignment or was helpful on a specific issue. All HR professionals are eligible to be nominated, including supervisors, non-supervisors, all job classifications, all agencies, members, and non-members. CAPPIE nominations can be submitted at any time and are awarded each month at the program meetings.
You can also nominate someone for the 2014 HR Professional of the Year Award, the 2014 HR Supervisor/Manager of the Year Award, or the 2014 Charles T. Sciotto Award for HR Excellence. These awards will be presented in May at the Spring Conference. The deadline to nominate someone for these awards is March 21, 2014. To nominate someone for the HR Professional of the Year Award or the HR Supervisor/Manager of the Year Award, complete and submit a Monthly/Annual Nomination Form. To nominate someone for the Charles T. Sciotto Award, complete and submit the Sciotto Nomination Form.
